Iron & Pine

Brand creation and website design by Creatomatic

Project Brief

Iron & Pine came to us looking to take their business forward with a rebrand, new logo and updated website. Formerly Galloway Modular Construction, they bring shipping containers from all over the world to their workshop in Galloway where skilled craftsmen covert them using the best local materials into beautiful spaces. From self-catering accommodation units to retail and office space, Iron & Pine ship their products across the UK.

The client wanted to use their new, modern brand to convey that they are not your standard construction company, but are made up of young professionals, proud of their Dumfries and Galloway heritage, selling luxury bespoke products. They were looking to update their original WordPress site to something a bit more modern, and tie this in with their new logo and branding.

Our Role

Iron & Pine provided us with a great brief, a selection of professional photographs that really showcase their work, and a feature video that helps site visitors get a real overview of the company.

Paul and Zoe worked alongside the team at Iron & Pine to develop their new logo and branding concepts. Considering the contrast of fonts throughout the initial design stage was important to the overall brand, creating a strong distinction that was achieved using colours, thickness, and edges, communicating both the structural element of the business and the organic nature of the materials.

We wanted to ensure that there was a focus on the visual element of the site, making use of the images and video provided by Iron & Pine to showcase their products. There was a conscious effort to focus on the quality and craftsmanship within the designs, so we used fonts, colours and layouts to reflect this.

The Result

The finalised logo combines corrugated iron and a pine tree, tying in to the Iron & Pine business and what they do, styled onto the icons with softer curved sides and squared edges.

The client wanted to make sure their customers needs are met first and foremost through high quality design and beautifully finished products, and the website design helps to communicate that quality. A focus on creating jobs in and showcasing a rural area like Dumfries and Galloway is reflected in the client’s imagery and links to the landscape in the design. With a highly skilled team delivering on fantastic projects, the website gives them opportunities to display the craftsmanship through each case study that they deliver.
